New waste and recycling bins begin arriving across South Holland next week
Households across South Holland will begin receiving their new waste and recycling bins from next week (Monday 3rd August 2026) as part of the council's new waste and recycling service, which launches later this year.
Over the coming weeks, delivery teams will be visiting every eligible household across the district to deliver:
A black-lidded bin for general waste
A blue-lidded bin for mixed dry recycling
A purple-lidded bin for paper and card recycling
A food waste caddy pack, including a kitchen caddy, outdoor caddy and starter liners
Please don't start using your new bins just yet.
Although your new bins may arrive over the coming weeks, please continue using your current waste and recycling collection service until you are advised otherwise.
Councillor Jim Astill, Portfolio Holder for Corporate and Environmental Services, said: "The delivery of our new waste and recycling bins is an important step towards launching South Holland's new collection service later this year. The new system will make it easier for residents to recycle more materials, including food waste, and will help us meet future recycling requirements.
"As the deliveries begin, I would ask residents to be patient as teams work their way across the district and to remember that the new bins should not be used until the new service officially starts. Full guidance and collection information will be provided in advance."
Deliveries will take place well in advance of the new collections starting to ensure every household receives their bins and caddies before the service changes are introduced.
Each delivery will include a simple tag explaining that the bins should be placed in their permanent storage location and not used until the new service begins.
