New Community Safety Officers join South Holland to tackle anti-social behaviour
South Holland District Council has introduced two new Community Safety Officers, funded by the Spalding Neighbourhood Board, to tackle anti-social behaviour and improve safety across Spalding through regular uniformed patrols and support for vulnerable people. The officers will work with residents, businesses, Lincolnshire Police and partner organisations to address local concerns, provide reassurance and help create a safer, more welcoming town centre.
Council crackdown sees more than 6,600 fines issued to litter louts and antisocial offenders
North Lincolnshire Council has issued more than 6,600 fines over the past three years for littering, antisocial behaviour and other offences, with 2,445 fixed penalty notices issued in the last year alone, an increase of almost 19 per cent. The council has extended its enforcement contract for a further three years and stepped up action against irresponsible parking, issuing 341 penalty notices since March to help keep streets cleaner and safer.
Press release: Final milestone for Rosegarth Square as redevelopment completed
Boston’s £17.1 million Rosegarth Square redevelopment has reached completion, with all outstanding works finished and the new commercial and residential building, car park and public square officially handed over to Boston Borough Council by main contractor Lindum. The project was supported by £14.8 million in UK Government funding and £2.3 million from Boston Partnership Funding, enabling the council to acquire and clear the former B&M site and Crown House to make way for the transformation. The development includes Rosegarth View, featuring flexible ground-floor commercial space and 18 one-bedroom flats for private rent, alongside parking for 44 cars and an improved public square that opened in September. The commercial space is currently under offer, with further details expected soon, while the flats will be brought to the rental market over the coming months. Council Leader Councillor Dale Broughton welcomed the milestone, highlighting the scheme’s role in creating a more attractive town centre and delivering lasting benefits for residents, visitors and local businesses.
