Back and shattered after a weekend in Manchester, John returned to Magna Radio with a tale of embarrassment that many listeners could relate to.
While travelling home by train, John somehow managed to switch on his phone torch without realising. For a good ten minutes, he was unknowingly shining it directly at the girl sitting opposite him before she finally pointed it out. The awkwardness didn't stop there. It then dawned on John that from her perspective, it probably looked like he'd been filming her. He assures everyone that definitely wasn't the case!
We also looked ahead to the return of Co-Host Friday. Last week, John was joined by Mark Steele, lead singer of local cover band Stolen Fridays. This Friday (5th June), he'll be welcoming Jason Lingard, owner of Kinetic Performance Gym in Lincoln, who will be putting John through his paces live on air.
Topical Tune
Today's Topical Tune was inspired by reports that Donald Trump could cancel America's 250th birthday concert after artists reportedly pulled out, instead turning it into a rally with himself as the headline act, claiming he can attract crowds like Elvis.
Listeners responded with some brilliant musical suggestions:
5. Chesney Hawkes – I Am The One & Only (Kate & Sarah, Louth)
4. The Doobie Brothers – What A Fool Believes (Jody, Boston)
3. Green Day – American Idiot (Ben, Lincoln)
2. Lesley Gore – It's My Party (Chris, Scunthorpe)
1. Scouting For Girls – Elvis Isn't Dead (Gary, Skegness)
Thanks to everyone who got involved. Join John Marshall weekdays from midday on Magna Radio for more great music, conversation and listener interaction across the East Midlands.
