East Lindsey District Council is launching a new programme that provides expert advice and energy audits to businesses across our area after identifying a need for guidance and support.
Funded by the East Lindsey Investment Fund (ELIF), the Energy Smart East Lindsey programme aims to use the detailed audits to deliver tailored recommendations based on the specific challenges and opportunities within businesses.
Following discussions with businesses, the Council has become acutely aware of the difficulties they face in the current financial climate, particularly around the cost of utilities such as gas and electricity.
Having identified the issue and the need for support, the Council made the move to invest its own money into a scheme which aims to deliver real results for businesses through in-depth audits and expert advice.
Larger businesses with energy bills costing more than £50,000 per year, will be able to access part funded specialist advisory support and audits from Energy Oasis.
For smaller businesses, fully funded resource efficiency audits are available from N4 Energy Solutions.
This support will help business owners to identify practical ways to improve efficiency, reduce unnecessary costs and make informed decisions about future improvements.
Alongside the offer of audits, ELIF funding has also made it possible for Advice4Growth to continue one to one business support as well as to deliver a series of networking events for businesses across the district which will begin in October.
The events have been designed to explore practical approaches to improving efficiency and will be a chance for businesses owners to learn from industry specialists and share experiences with others, while also being able to discover what support is available to them.
Councillor Steve Kirk, portfolio holder for the coastal economy, and Councillor Adam Grist, portfolio holder for market towns and the rural economy, said: “Supporting businesses is a key priority for us, so we are delighted to be able to deliver this programme through a grant from the East Lindsey Investment Fund.
