Today we played Found It... and the question was simple enough on the surface. How many counties make up Northern Ireland, how many miles long is the River Thames, and how many locks are there on the River Thames? The answers were 6, 215, and 45, giving a total of 266.
Two of our Magna staff, Lucy and Millie, had a go, and it was Olivia who came closest from our team. Lucy, bless her, thought the Thames stretched for 1,600 miles. It does not. It is very much not 1,600 miles long. A good effort though, Lucy.
Out in listener land, Chris in Grimsby and Scouser in Lincoln were both incredibly close, each guessing 265. Just one off the total. Brilliant stuff from both of them.
For Topical Tune, I told the story of Europe's smallest school opening on the Italian island of Stromboli, right under an active volcano, with just one six-year-old pupil starting there. I asked what song best sums that up, and the suggestions were brilliant. Cheryl on Birchwood went with Roy Orbison's Only The Lonely in fifth, but taking the top spot today was James in Grimsby with Chesney Hawkes and I Am The One and Only. You cannot argue with that one really. Perfect answer.
