A local fundraiser is preparing to take on a major walking challenge from Old Market Square in Nottingham to Lincoln Cathedral to raise money for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.
George Strudwick will set off on Friday 11 September 2026, taking on the long-distance route in support of the charity’s life-saving work across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and beyond.
George is currently finalising the details of the challenge with Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, with Lincoln Cathedral chosen as a fitting finishing point where the end of the fundraiser can be celebrated.
He has also launched a GoFundMe page and is promoting the walk on social media, including Facebook and TikTok, to encourage donations and support in the run-up to the challenge.
George said: “Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance does incredible work for people across our area, and I wanted to do something meaningful to support them. Walking from Nottingham to Lincoln Cathedral will be a big challenge, but every donation, share and message of encouragement will make a real difference and help keep me going.”
Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance provides advanced critical care by helicopter and car, responding to some of the most serious incidents across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and beyond.
Tom from Magna Radio said: “George is taking on a fantastic challenge for a cause that means a great deal to communities across our region. We’re proud to help spread the word and encourage our listeners, readers and followers to support him however they can.”
